Twitter Updates for 2008-04-22

  • Question: Ok folks, I know someone knows this: What's the trick to burning (on a Macbook) a dual layer DVD that plays in a standard player? #
  • @michaelramm my main problem with Twirl is the scrolling one tweet at a time instead of by pixels. Other things too, but that's the main. #
  • @michaelramm - Using both OSX and Vista with Twirl. It scrolls by tweet, not by pixels. I also want notifications _only_ on @ and Directs. #
  • @aubiematt I do most my twitter'ing via SMS. Twirl is fine though, and so is Twitterrific (but it's lagging behind in features). #
  • @cdharrison Was your HP laptop having heating issues? I know multiple people with HP laptops that had heat snyc issues. #
  • @jmccay I had a dead pixel appear and then later disappear on my old 12" Powerbook. I made efforts to "unstick" it by lightly touching, etc. #
  • @aubiematt I agree, if you don't leave Twirl running then you can miss some. But don't all apps do that? Other than web, any suggestions? #
  • @michaelramm Twirl gets @ and DMs, but no option 4 "pop up notify" only on them (vs. all tweets). "Not by pixel" = it jumps when you scroll. #
  • Hopes @Twirl and @Twitterrific are seeing our convo about development. Twitterrific needs Twirl's features, and Twirl needs 'riffic's GUI. #
  • @michaelramm Early day tom. Thx for the thoughts. IMHO, Twitterrific scrolls like I want Twirl to, and @/DMs in main feed is a plus too. #
  • Question: Ok folks, I know someone knows this: What's the trick to burning (on a Macbook) a dual layer DVD that plays in a standard player? #
  • @cdharrison From my reading on HP forums about my friend's laptop w same issue, you _might_ be able to fix it for $10. http://qurl.com/r4tyf #
  • @cdharrison I don't. Sorry. It was quite a while ago that I looked into it. #

Not forgotten…

Hello blog and RSS feed readers. I haven't forgotten about you. Truth is, I update my Twitter so often, that often I say what I have to say in 140 characters, and then there's little left to say here.

Truth be told, I'm really just testing out Facebook's BlogIt app and the Markdown syntax right now, but in the future, I hope to make entries on the following:

  • How to improve your search engine rank.
  • Staying connected with people.
  • The future of The Decatur Daily and news print in general.
  • and Lifeguard management.

In the meantime, I hope to hear from you in the comments, or better yet, follow me and @ me on Twitter! Thanks!

*note: This was my second attempt at this entry. The user/password wasn't properly set, and Blogit had no way to retrieve my first effort. (Note to self: always copy to clipboard first).

Additional note: Fourth attempt. Blogit never worked. The username/password was properly set all along, but that is the error it reports, despite multiple attempts. Fail.
