I was an Ellis-licensed 'Special Facility' lifeguard and supervisor for a small-sized waterpark. I also started and maintain what I believe is the largest lifeguard discussion community on the internet: lifeguarding.livejournal.com, and through the people there I've tried to learn as much about the other lifeguarding programs as possible. Now, I am presently taking a university ARC lifeguarding class and am finding out that there are still more differences between Ellis and ARC than I was previously unaware of.
